Welcome!

My name is Jesse. I am a medical student at the University of Utah. My wife, Annie, and I were troubled that so many of our neighbors found themselves unemployed or otherwise struggling in the midst of the national (international!) recession, and we decided we wanted to do something about it.

Fruits and vegetables are essential to a healthy, happy diet, but they also tend to be some of the most expensive items on the grocery list. This means they are often one of the first things to get eliminated when a family is tightening their belts on a budget. Our goal with the Emerson Neighborhood Relief Project is to help folks in our neighborhood, who are struggling to afford produce, by offering up some of the yield from our gardens.

It is neighbor helping neighbor!

Many of us in this neighborhood enjoy digging in the dirt and growing the good things of the earth. Many times we tend to grow more food than we can actually use.
